What is biogas energy
Biogas energy is a renewable source of energy produced through the anaerobic digestion of organic materials, such as agricultural waste, food scraps, sewage, and other biodegradable materials. During the anaerobic digestion process, microorganisms break down these organic materials in the absence of oxygen, releasing methane gas and carbon dioxide. This methane-rich biogas can be captured, processed, and used as a fuel for electricity generation, heating, or as a vehicle fuel. Biogas energy is considered environmentally friendly because it reduces greenhouse gas emissions, as the methane produced can be harnessed for energy, preventing it from being released into the atmosphere where it would contribute to climate change.
